A sketch in red and black

 Permnent marker and red acrylic on canson  42 x 30 cm

For this work I was trying to reduce the piece to the bare essentials.

The whole work was done with just one permanent blackmarker and

a quick splash of red ink. While the previous animal paintings are 

decorative and reasonably complex to produce, this one I think has more

power in it due to its reductive nature.

and a lick of aliziron crimzon.

 is full of that soft damp greyness

we are so used to here.

For this work I used Derwent pencils, minen leads and Pitt graphite
on 150gm acid free cartridge pad.

Painting plein air in the Boggeragh Mountains..

This is a plein air I was fortunate to get in this week, in the Boggeragh Mountains.

I have been painting around the same area for three days as the scenery is so marvelous 

and the weather so mild.
